Our speaker on the 18th of February 2010 was Dr Charan Gill MBE, the mastermind behind the hugely successful Glasgow based Harlequin Leisure Group, which incorporated Harlequin Restaurant Group, the largest Indian restaurant chain in the UK. Sold off in 2005 the Harlequin Restaurant Group for £16 million.

In late November 2009, the POWER LUNCH CLUB was approached by HSBC Bank who asked if they could sponsor a December event and host it at their prestigious offices in Bothwell Street in Glasgow. With special guest John Jones creator of the international ‘Vanish’ brand.

The POWER LUNCH CLUB ‘Directors Christmas event at the Express Holiday Inn, Edinburgh on December the 3rd 2009. Our members enjoyed a delicious 3 course Christmas lunch, the first of quite a few for many of them that month.

Many of Edinburgh’s top company directors had gathered together to hear John Jones tell them how he had created from nothing in the West coast of Scotland, the international ‘Vanish’ brand, now selling over 130 million units. A very funny and enjoyable afternoon.
